Chianti Wine Tour
The little lakes in the Apennines are nothing but picturesque pud-dles. In exchange, we have a number of artificial lakes.
The islands of Tuscany, almost ali of them within the stretch of sea between the promontory of Piombino and the Argentario (the exception being the more northerly Gorgona), are perhaps to be considered as an extension of the Antiapennines. They could well be the remains of
the ancient land of Tyrrbenis, now long submerged, to which the Argentario itself belonged. |
