Tuscany wine

With respect to its hills and mountains, everyone agrees that the first thing that strikes one about the beauty of Tuscany is its variety. By this we mean the abun-dance of high ground, summits and crests arranged in no apparent order, with a prevalence of hilly or very hilly country, mountains which occasionally rise to about 2000 metres (well over 6000 ft.) but are generally far more mod-est, and plains along the rivers and near the coast, which cover a bare 10% of the total area of the region. In the Garfagnana, the Apennines and the Apuan Alps, the mountains can even resemble the Dolomites, and indeed they might be thought of as the "Tuscan Alps." Further south we find the beginnings of the centrai Italian Apennines, which are calcareous, usually bare, and rounded in out-line.
